A long-awaited wintry weather reached Greece on Tuesday with storms and a drop of temperature affecting particularly western, central and southern regions.
In its updated emergency weather warning on Tuesday morning, the National Meteorological Service (EMY) said heavy rains and storms will be accompanied by a high frequency of lightning and hail in the Ionian islands, western parts of Central Greece and the western Peloponnese.
In Macedonia and Thrace, temperatures will range between 4 to 15 and locally to 16 degrees Celsius., while western Greece will see higher temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Evia and the eastern Peloponnese is forecast to see some rain and temperatures will range between 8 and 18 degrees. Cloudy weather is forecast for Athens, Crete and the Cyclades on Tuesday.
