This was an election on the US economy. And for many Americans, the economy sucks

  1. I think what people demonstrated is that they have no clue how things work and they voted based on emotional requirements because they need to blame someone for high prices.

The President can affect the grocery prices about as much as he/she can affect the weather.

  2. Well, I hope they enjoy eating their fucking cheap eggs every day 😒

I find it hilarious that the poor and uneducated swung hard for The Donald and they are the ones that are going to get screwed the worst.

I’m tired of having empathy for them.

  3. >**A high-growth, high-spending economy is not necessarily a sign of a healthy economy**. Many Americans are spending a high proportion of their money on rent, healthcare, and food, not discretionary items — and fuelled by debt.

I think this is the crux.

People care about their income relative to cost. They do not care about macro GDP or even CPI.

  4. But why didn’t the pocket book issues work in Hillary’s favor in 2016?

  5. For me, this was the **Correlation Does Not Equal Causation election.**

Yes, shit is expensive. No, Biden didn’t raise the prices.

  6. Ffs, we get it. Lifes hard, doesn’t mean an authoritarian gov’t is the solution. Go ask a Hungarian how thats going.

  7. And they still don’t understand capitalism, which is about ownership of capital and NOT about hard work! The voters for DJT will continue to vote against themselves based on silly nonsensical rhetoric!

  8. Overall the economy is doing just fine and chugging along. Healthy GDP growth, elevated inflation had fallen back closer to normal levels, basically at full employment.

When you look closer at the micro level, a lot of people have experienced increased cost of living for vehicles, insurance, home prices, groceries, etc.

I feel a lot of people voted based on that/emotions because while on the macro level the economy is doing well, individuals are reporting low satisfaction.

  9. Probably about all elections are about economy, only some results are more unexpected than others. GDP and stock market and 401(k) balances mean nothing if they are not more distributed according to people’s contributions. We are all partners in this giant partnership called USA, the election told us that most people perceive they are not receiving the fair share of their contributions. Anyone denying this is essentially denying the election results, blinding themselves.

  10. I took advantage of the hot labor market post covid, so the last 4 years have been great for my family. Maybe these whiners would be able to afford their groceries if they spent less money on Trump flags and opiates.

  11. They blamed Biden for something he had little to nothing to do with and voted for the guy saying he’d make it worse.

  12. well bend over MAGA, it’s about to get a whole lot worse

  13. Almost every ruling party around the world was ousted over the economy. Mexico is one exception but they are well on their way to returning to the days of a one-party state.

  14. Don’t worry guys Donald Trump is going to help you lol

  15. Imagine being so brainwashed that you think billionaires are going to fix the economy for you? You are fucked and about to get more fucked.

  16. If the first lady Musk delivers his promise and makes life tougher, there will be a blue wave in Congress after two years, and everything will return to normal.
