Two Thai women were arrested in Denmark following brothel inspections conducted by the East Jutland Police Immigration Section as part of a crackdown on illegal activities in massage clinics. A human trafficking investigation is now underway.
According to the East Jutland Police’s daily report, authorities carried out inspections at two different massage clinics located in Randers and Grenaa.
The first inspection took place in Randers, where police aimed to identify individuals residing illegally in Denmark without work permits. During this operation, officers found two foreign nationals, including a 39-year-old Thai woman whose Schengen visa had expired. Consequently, she was charged with illegal residency in the country.
In Grenaa, police encountered two Thai women at the massage clinic. One of them, a 36-year-old, could not present a valid residence permit and was similarly charged with illegal residency.
The cases of these Thai women will be referred to the Center Against Human Trafficking. Authorities will assess whether they may have been victims of human trafficking. Additionally, the Danish Immigration Service will evaluate whether the two women should face deportation.
As these investigations unfold, this case highlights ongoing concerns about human trafficking and illegal immigration practices within Denmark.
