As well as fines I always feel there should be an additional form of punishment for fly-tipping. Things like clearing litter, or the crushing/seizing and selling of vehicles.
I never feel people give enough respect to fly tippers, nobody appreciates the work involved.
I mean, cow tipping is easy, anyone can sneak up on them, but to catch the flies off guard? Takes real skill is all I’m saying.
Pitiful fine for people who probably make a living from getting rid of peoples’ unwanted stuff.
This is seems like an awfully long way to travel and waste of petrol to avaid having to go to the dump.
Aren’t recycling centres in England free to use? This is the only reason I can think of as to why they would dump it nearby instead of just taking it there.
Nowhere near enough.
The costs to the local council of tracking them down and cleaning up this incident is probably more than that. And how many other times have they done it and got away with it?
It should come with community service to clean up after other fly-tippers, otherwise they will never truly appreciate how damaging what they did is. People always expect someone else to clean up after them, it is time those responsible for blighting the countryside experienced the aftermath of their crimes.
