Spain is deploying 7,500 troops to its eastern region hit by devastating floods, the government said on Monday in the face of rising discontent over the response to the catastrophe that has killed at least 217 people.Fatalities from Spain’s worst flash floods in modern history edged higher to 217 on Sunday. Local residents’ anger was focused on late alerts from authorities about the dangers of flooding and a perceived delayed response by emergency services.

  1. Entire Europe is turning on their political elites because they are wasting money on endless US wars instead of investing on their people's welfare. Next to go in 2025 are the German ruling coalition, the people are voicing disatisfaction at so little investment on infrastructure including water and landslide prevention project but increasing more on useless defence and war preparations to uphold US world order, anything wrong?

  4. So initially the Spanish government did very little, then large crowds of people shouted abuse at the king and throw mud at the king, and then immediately thousands more troops are deployed.

  5. People need to identify someone as the cause – it sheds responsibility and places it on someone else's shoulders because they themselves are powerless and angry.
    However early the flood warning had been issued and however many people are deployed I suspect the results would have been pretty much the same.
    And if anyone thinks that they are safe in the region/country/continent they live in – think again – sooner or later we will all get a dose of this or some other tragedy, it is Earth rebalancing herself. The price we pay for the way we've treated her. We were warned years ago – but homo sapiens is notorious for doing nothing till tragedy strikes.

  6. When there was a flood in Russia, the Ministry of Emergency Situations promptly transferred equipment and rescuers from all over Russia. In a short time, we managed to cope with the disaster, people received food and water. Why are people not being helped in the EU?

  7. Wasn't it Valencia's racist soccer fans that made monkey noises, yelled and chanted "MONO" and the N-word, and threw bananas at Vinicius Junior and other Black soccer players and Spanish ships were involved in the Transatlantic slave trade ? ??? Just askingโ€ฆ.
