One thing I do love about New York is its’ bizarre and quirky lawn and house decorating for St Patrick’s Day.
Yanks are never happy unless they festoon their houses with tat
No objections to the decorations, tbh it’s not too OTT, I’d shrug and walk on if I saw them. But yeah one month before the actual day whereas we only celebrate it for 2-3 days really….
Honestly let them enjoy it because it’s more their holiday than it is ours at this point.
St. Patrick’s day was a dour affair for years in Ireland and it was us copying the American’s that made it what it is today.
Irish people should stop appropriating American culture!
Good on them
I briefly lived in Sunnyside, Queens.
Really nice community vibe there, it’s like it’s its own insular little village in a big fucking megacity. I’m not sure if most neighborhoods in NY are like that, but Sunnyside was.
It’s still February. They are probably the kind of people who put their Christmas tree up in November.
Maspeth?
It’s February 21
Never understood why other Irish don’t like Americans doing this sort of stuff, I’ve always thought it’s rather endearing
Spiderman must be having a blast
Just waiting for the Patty’s day brigade to get going
Don’t buy lights. You can sponsor an Irish bai for just $370 a month. Your money will help provide shelter, food and reek in these unprecedented times. Your Irish bai will send you a free gift bag of empty bottles and an authentic Irish tale. Make a difference this paddy’s day.
They must be Irish
My brothers, help me cleanse these lands of stereotypes

Well at least they picked the right symbol.
