> Now, The Last Dinner Party has decided to join the masses leaving the site after Trump’s re-election following another spike in hateful content, particularly misogyny and racism.
> “ATTENTION: We’ll shortly be deleting this account due to the platform’s continued spread of misinformation and right-wing political bias, particularly in light of the US election,” they wrote in what is presumably a final post.
> The band has been known to speak about politics from time to time. During their appearance at Glastonbury this summer, vocalist Abigail Morris introduced hit single ‘Nothing Matters’ with a short speech, asking voters to “protect each other and just having some fucking empathy.”
I wish absolutely everyone would do this! It’s great to see that there does seem to be a mass exodus though!
To late the damage is done
I don’t know who they are but why didn’t they do this before the election or after Musk bought Twitter. It seems like they are trying to get something out of the election results
Where were these people before the election. I’m sorry but this shit has been happening on X for a long time but now suddenly they see the negative effects of it. I’m not going to give you kudos for something you should have done a long time ago.
It is somewhat comical to watch the reactions to a more right leaning platform after a decade of only left-wing platforms. Feels like early Fox News criticisms.
Too little too late
My favorite reaction to this: “This isn’t an airport, you don’t have to announce departures”
What’s the last dinner party?
Are they still buddies with the Red Scare girls who went full MAGA?
It’s silly for people to be announcing they’re leaving Twitter like it’s a big deal, but those of y’all getting pissy at them about it are just petty bitches.
As if all media isn’t Left leaning bias…Smh
I went to check in on Threads and blue sky to see how things were going over there. Pretty much a ghost town on blue sky. There’s more action on threads but I still can’t handle the algorithm or feed.
Neither one has reached anything close to critical mass or a hook. They won’t be any more successful than truth social was last time.
Got to have some salt to go with that sugar. If you’re on a platform where only people agree with you, it’s like eating a churro
Twitter specifically promoted leftist talking points (to the extent of creating a disinformation warning system), X promoted right wing talking points via using algorithms for negative engagement.
Being mad at one side seems hypocritical.
