  1. Ukraine has no intention of creating a nuclear bomb, as this is not a decision that could significantly change the situation on the frontlines, states Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the President’s Office, in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.

    “If this was truly a decision that could definitively change what is happening on the frontlines, then despite all the legal and reputational difficulties, one could consider it. But this is not the decision that would give us significant changes along the front,” Podolyak emphasized.

    According to him, changes on the front will come from having enough weaponry, particularly long-range weapons, as well as permission to strike deeper into Russia.

    “This will definitely bring changes on the front. And for that, we need investment support for military production and direct supply of weapons that are already in stock,” the advisor to the head of the President’s Office added.

  2. These statements and articles are beyond ridiculous, and I’m not even sure what they’re trying to accomplish with it. Why is Ukraine not making a nuke? Because it’s difficult and expensive to the point at which it’s prohibitive for a nation that can’t even maintain it’s public offices sans foreign aid. If it was easy/cheap, every nation on the planet would have a few.

  3. I always thought that Ukraine ought to have lied at the very beginning of the full scale invasion and said that they do have nukes. Alas, I don’t know if it would have changed anything…

  8. If Ukraine goes nuclear, Crimean bridge would be a perfect target for a demonstration.

  9. He is correct as with all nukes it is a deterrent and you need to be able to demonstrate the ability to build, maintain and deliver the weapons. It can also be a doomsday weapon were lines get drawn that can not be crossed but unless you are able to build tactical nukes and deliver and fight in the aftermath they show no front line use.

  11. Bomb without bombers will be useless. Rockets with warheads – yeah. But that doesn’t seem to be a food idea as it would increase tensions with other neighbouring countries.
