I’m horrified already about how my little cat and my dog will manage almost three months of constant these things. We also have Ukrainian families with kids here in my village. I hope they won’t think it’s something else.
Fireworks are bad but they should’ve locked her in her den she was just a baby😭

It seems worse than it used to be. There was still fireworks going off this Monday, almost a week after Nov 5th and who’s having a firework party on a Monday night.
I feel it used to only be acceptable the nearest Friday/Saturday and the date itself, as well as the days in between at a push.
This might just get it done.
Nobody can deny red pandas are the cutest fucking thing on this planet.
Crazy thing is that fireworks don’t need to be loud. The bang, aka “report,” is added on purpose, and isn’t caused by the chemistry that causes the visuals. Literally just ban the bang.

While this is sad, outright banning fireworks is an overreach, that needlessly ruins people’s fun.
1. Limit the use of fireworks within days of a recognized holiday and fine those who brake it.
2. Require taxable permits for additional events, like birthday parties, graduations, concerts, etc.
3. Make a simple public database that alerts animal shelters, zoos etc. when such a permit is issued to get ready.
4. Use fines and tax permits to make sound proof shelters for animals and peoples that don’t want to hear them.
Bonus: Someone in the comments said that the noises require a special compound ? If true, maybe ban that, but leave the light show be ?
Also, I remember the martha speaks episode about fireworks. In the end they hosted a party in the basement for the people and animals that didn’t wanna get bothered that had loud music. So even a children show knows an outright ban is nonsensical.
Or do we require a more functioning society for this to implement a good solution instead of a kneejerk reaction ?

I hate fireworks, I have hated them ever since one of those tiny fireworks blew up on the side of my head when I was a kid, couldn’t hear out that ear properly for days.

Fireworks should be banned. They are polluting, cause thousands of injuries per year and disturb the animals.
