LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Nevada is receiving more than $15 million in federal funds for low-income families to lower their energy costs.

U.S. Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen announced funding will come from the most recent government funding bill and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP.

“High energy costs are squeezing hardworking Nevada families, and I’m fully committed to doing everything I can to provide some relief,” Rosen said in a statement.

LIHEAP helps low-income families pay heating bills in the winter and cooling bills in the summer.
