  1. Is this the one the BBC reported left a police vehicle moments before?

  2. The number of deaths on the M5 between Bristol and Exeter always seems to be unproportionaly high. I wonder why this is?

  3. This is why the advice is to leave your car and climb up the embankment.

  4. When the UK weather is often bad you should be prepared to abandon your vehicle and still be warm and dry because if you are in light clothing its pouring rain and cold you are more likely to remain warm in your vehicle in a deadly position. Have a break down kit in your car if your frequent motorways Hi vis over jacker/waist coats for you and passengers A proper wind /waterproof jacket doesn’t have to be a mountain puffa jacket there are easily packable warm jackets that take up little space ,heat pads are cheap and handy this time of year many stores have offers on charc pocket warmers, always have travel pack of water some emergency choc bars Mars / Snickers to help morale while waiting for the break down crews/ police depending the reason , and get over the barrier and to a secure location. So many unnecessary deaths for the sake of a some simple preparations. I have a small kit bag that sits in the boot ,with giant light sticks and torches, hi- vis vests a set of his vis waterproof bib and braces and jacket , Glove box has 5 twin pack char pocket warmers take up no space provide excellent heat for hours. After been stuck in the deep highlands on two occasions once 16 hours deep snow (nightmare) and another in better weather where the recovery crew still took 3 hours to get to us and more taking us back with our vehicle on the back of their recovery truck and they were great guys, you have to be prepared that breaking down can leave you stranded for hours and its a helpless feeling waiting for others to come get you.

In those moments those little things keep you perked up and paying attention, an empty belly and no water let a lone no tea coffee (thermos in winter is amazing) it is despairing and if you are standing out in shit weather even more so if its really cold. Be prepared and get to safety. So many senseless loss of lives over a bloody car and others not paying attention. In this young woman’s case how she game to a halt in the outer lane is a nightmare , and a terrible predicament for other drivers in the outside lane to be able to react. You have to be aware of how your car feels if you are at speed and things are apparent your car is in trouble to try to get across to the hard shoulder, bigger nightmare with smart motorways.. But get out and get away fast and get off either side. In heavy motorway traffic not a simple set of events but you have to stay sharp, react quick and forget that broken down piece of metal , then make the calls once you are in a safe place the car is no longer important as a refuge in these locations of high volume fast traffic . As seen here the unfortunate driver that hit the car got away alive ,a strong car and seat belts hitting a stationary car and the safety mechanisms doing their job. The young woman that lost her life, its a sickening and tragic event for all her loved one to have to face and endure.

  5. I’m sorry, but if she wasn’t paying attention when she passed he drivers license, it’s her own fault. I’m done feeling sorry for totally preventable things when people should have just paid attention or he less stupid.

  6. Not surprised it was a BMW driver who did it. Assholes.
