Don’t get me wrong, I rely on Lime daily but jesus fucking Christ why is there so many at each parking spot lately? You get to Fenchurch St and there’s about 60 all tightly placed together there, half of them literally nestled into one another to the point I often have to yank one out, but parking them is another matter because you get there and Lime have clearly placed a load there or organised them but it’s still chaos, then you park where you think won’t be in anyone’s way and still get a parking warning when it’s them putting too many bikes out. I know they organise them and beaten them up when replacing batteries but they put them so close together I’ve seen people knock over entire lines of 8-10 bikes at a time pulling a bike out, then they just cycle off because really it’s not their job to pick up 9 bikes that were poorly parked by the company that runs them. They need space between them.
Seriously there’s about 5 bikes for each regular lime user. I feel like the other cities both in the UK and elsewhere who have stopped the contracts with them have had their bikes sent to London.
Just a few months ago I had to often walk a kilometre or so to find one as my usual parking bay by my work would often have none. I don’t have that problem now, I have 20+ to pick from daily and when I park it there in the morning, I have to nestle it in with the others in such an awkward way that it costs me money trying to do it.
not even trying to fit them inside the lines of the painted cycle hire box. could easily if you stacked them.
Has to be AI. Have as yet to see anything so orderly anywhere.
Well, they’re not in the assigned ‘cycle hire’ box either…
You think times have overtaken the department responsible for those markings?
On the upside, unlike the ones near us, they’re all upright.
Ok this wins the Internet
The idea is that you take the ones on the end but what these companies don’t realise – Sometimes their bikes are fkd or the seat post doesn’t work or the brakes are shit..etc
So you have to take a different one.
I think they’re breading or someone got them wet
That poor Cycle Hire box is working overtime:

I was walking past this today to get my morning pastry and it baffled me 😳
