In the next fiscal year, Iran will increase its defense budget by 200 percent. The author here argues that Iran wants to position itself as the strong-man in the Middle East and to posture itself for success against any threats from Israel. An interesting take in the article is that the government is likely anticipating strong sanctions from the Trump administration and is increasing their budget symbolically, to show the sanctions aren’t crippling them.
Isn’t it obvious?
Iran, Russia, North Korea and China are preparing for war. (Or larger scale war for those involved in warfare already)
Doubt that keeps up with their inflation. So, defense cuts??
So prior to the US election there were many reports of Iran preparing a response to Israel’s response to irans response of Israel attacking an Iranian proxy in Lebanon (did I get that right?)
The news, at least in the US, has fizzled. Did they drop it or is a response still anticipated?
