Its really depressing how war-hungry the UK seems to be over this.
I get that for the tories, it’s largely a political distraction, but people (even on this sub) are claiming it’s objectively the morally right thing to get involved in a conflict hardly anyone in the UK even understands. That it’s fine to work alongside the self-described neonazis of the Azov battalion as long as it’s against Russia. That anyone who isn’t immediately on board with the war is a Russian bot, or an idiot, or a coward.
It’s kind of doing my head in. The same media machine that has for years focused on antisemitism in the UK, and how it is unforgivable, is willing to platform actual fucking Nazis who belong to groups that helped perpetrate the holocaust.
Jane Moore is more than welcome to get her scrapping kit on and fix swords, the judgemental old harpy.
This is always my mum’s answer to any suggestion of political correctness of any sort, like it’s some sort of win to proclaim that the youth of today would probably not want to be in a war. Yeah you know what me neither tbh
I wish I could say this was the first time a middle-aged woman advocated for sending young men off to be conscripted into war to, presumably, die.
Easy to send other people to the front lines, knowing you yourself are too old /wealthy/well connected to ever be at risk.

What is it with boomers and wanting to send their kids/grandkids off to war? Very few of them have actually seen war or served in the armed forces but they seem to have this obsession with it. My parents always harp on about ‘bringing back national service’ and that it would ‘do this generation some good’ even though it was their parents that were drafted, not them. Such a bitter, spiteful generation, they were given everything from parents and are still taking from their own children.
