  3. This will be the EU’s second autonomous military exercise ahead of the Rapid Deployment Force becoming fully operational next year. Initially 5,000 troops but there already talks to increase the number to 50,000.

    I guess the saying that change in the EU is at a quantum level (nothing happens then suddenly everything happens) is true. Which is absolutely necessary, considering how much Europe has dawdled, and there’s only two-months before Trump is in power.

  10. German troops will be training on drone warfare: instead of yelling “bang” like in the past, they will be instructed to yell “bzzzzzzz” first.

  11. So obviously the United Kingdom isn’t a part of the EU, but I do wonder if they’ll get more involved with military exercises like this one.

    If there’s anything that affects the UK more than trading with Europe, it’s the security of it…

    Shouldn’t they have an exercise where they test deployment to somewhere outside the EU?

    Also raises the question of what sort of crisis outside of the EU would have EU troops deployed to it.
