  15. It was the most successful documentary of the year ($12,311,598). The next most successful did like 75% of that. It was the most viewed. It coincided with a record breaking political shift in the US. It would be absolutely childish not to consider its value as a documentary and a culturally defining film of this year. Maybe this generation. Downvote me, but before you respond- have you seen it?

I know this is semantic, but I don’t like framing it this way because it implies that conservatives are right that Hollywood and The Academy are inherently liberal institutions with an agenda in politics, which is why they are making their nonsense conservative content. In real life though, no such agenda exists. Its just that good stories involve empathy and morals that Republicans have long eschewed. They want entertainment to be a blinking lights bread and circus, but compelling storytelling requires you to care about others and their entire ideology is based on who to hate. If they think too hard about The Hero’s Journey they might sympathize with an asylum seeker.

    So anyway, Matt Walsh is seeking institutional validation, not liberal validation. It just so happens he will fail because his crap lack any substance (which has an indirect correlation to political views). Don’t let him argue there’s a biased system that is against him. He just plain sucks.

    This post is worded like everyone is one side or the other. Democratic voters represent 30% of the country, same with republicans.

    Most things both sides do is to get my attention, not yours. Your mind is made up. I’m open to everything.

    I wasn’t aware of this movie, until this very moment. I’ve heard his name, but I’m not familiar. Now I want to see the movie.

    So, I think his goal was to get publicity. And I can’t tell if you’re an advertising troll, or if you appose him and have no idea what you’re doing.
