What type of drugs? Does it include misuse of prescription painkillers in the US?
Really puts it into perspective.
Still a job to do in Scotland, but things are getting better.
Now do it against Europe
I actually said in another, unrelated post about Scotland that it was more comparable to Minnesota.
It’s a great feeling being correct.

Scrapping the barrel if we are comparing ourselves to America
I wonder if US states have more fiscal and legislative powers than the Scottish Parliament?
Scottish drug deaths also include Hospice deaths through use of pain relief. Just using US misuse of drug deaths is a bit skewed.
This is why when people on this sub say that Scotland has a drug problem, I think “whaddya mean?”
I’m from Missouri. I’m surprised California, Oregon, and Washington don’t have higher numbers.
Fentanyl
Why not compare Scotland’s drug death statistics to countries that operate under the same drug legislation? Surely that would be a more helpful comparison and give us a better understanding of why Scotland’s drug death rate is so alarmingly high.
Yikes!
I feel like a lot of the high numbers here might be down to fentanyl? It seems to be a huge problem
Inglish basturts. It’s ayeweys the inglish.
Apples and oranges
How is this the first time that i realise that west virginia is actually a state?
Let’s never ever get excited when we beat the US in *insert rate of deaths here*.
not really anything to be proud of that we are anywhere in that ranking at all
As a West Virginia resident it’s crazy that we have a higher drug death rate then a entire country
