New Senate majority leader ‘excited’ to ‘dismantle federal bureaucracy’ | Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., also said that he is open to allowing recess appointments, which could let Trump bypass the Senate for certain nominees.

That roaring sound you hear is the group suckage of GOP Senators.
Just imagine Democrats pulling some shit like this. It would be Jan 6th 2.0 instantly.
And here…I had hope that since he wasn’t a Trumper…but no. I wonder wtf kind of dirt he has on him.
The recess appointment part is based on a single tweet that he made a few days ago before the crazier appointments. He is still a Trumper but not nearly to the degree of the other options.
USA is a dumpster fire.
If I am not mistaken Thune was one of the congressmen that went to Russia on July 4 th?
Congress open to allowing King Trump to do whatever he likes so long as they get to keep their jobs. That’s the real headline.
Wasn’t it just yesterday he insisted there would be hearings?
Somebody made a phone call.
Dictator/ Fuhrer tRump is now in power, and everyone is scared to stop him.
We just had a post yesterday that he was the most anti-Maga of the bunch lol.
Fuck.
Well, there goes the very vain hope that the GOP had a semblance of a spine.
Wow, Thune stayed strong on not allowing Trump to do recess appointments for all of like three days. He’s pretty old, I wonder if his knees get sore. Maybe Trump has a special pillow he gives the GOP while they suck him off? FML
Fuck if I am going to let a clown from SOUTH DAKOTA have any power over me
So much for Thune being the grown up republican. They’re all shit.
The “federal bureaucracy “ to republicans is literally just anyone that isn’t a christo-nationalist , anti-science or for completely unregulated capitalism.
They mean rules and facts that protect people. That’s what federal bureaucracy is to them.
They want to be able to pollute and sell with no regulations, discriminate anyone that doesn’t follow there Christian bullshit and they want to ignore the facts of science that get in the way of making money .
isn’t exactly up to him because the democrats can hold a pro forma session without him.
never trust a republican.
Hope the Dems do the same thing next time they are in power.
“We look forward to the opportunity of firing and prosecuting everybody except our rich cronies.”
“He’s a Neocon. He won’t bend for Trump, that’s why they’re mad Scott wasn’t elected.”
Less than 24 hours that lasted, LOL
Strap on in folks… fucked for decades.
When the toothless trump supporters realize that they will be the first fed into the meat grinder, will they finally realize that eacism and misogyny are losing attitudes?
NAAAW
You goddamn idiots ruined it for the entire country.
Like are we being taken over by Russia slowly and in the most terrifying way right now
If, we manage to get a 2026 Election, these recess appointments, which are for a max of 2 years, will really bite them in the ass
The Senate isn’t going to stop Trump. Some judges may try to slow him down but they also won’t be able to stop him. Even if the Roberts court rules against him, what are they or the Senate going to do when he decides to ignore them?
So basically douchebags from the Dakotas, Burgum, Thune, Noem are going to fuck the majority of us? Might as well nominate extremists from Wyoming, Idaho and Montana while you’re at it!
It’s called a purge. They’re purging the federal government and installing loyalists. Start speaking with the correct terms.
Project 2025 called for exactly this. Trump said he wouldn’t do it. His followers accepted that. Now he’s slapping two unserious people on it and acting like it isn’t serious. Project 2025 is happening before our eyes.
Well that’s it then. GG America.
Congratulations, Russia, you have fuked over the greatest country. It’s not a surprise the rest of the world had a pretty good idea about how corrupt this country and the politicians are. Campaigne contributions are simply bribes and nothing else.
Recess appointments shouldn’t be even legal, same goes for shadow docket rulings coming out of SCOTUS
As a Canadian, it feels like saying goodbye to an annoying big brother. It was nice knowing you, American democracy, I hope you can make it through.
Can you imagine the Republican fury is Biden had touted even the idea of recess appointments? They’d have lost their minds and cried incessant that it’s unconstitutional and against the foundations of democracy.
The level of hypocrisy on display in just a week is utterly insane.
Its going to be so entertaining when all the common people that cheer for such things get exactly what theyve always said they wanted and then realize what it actually means
So my elected representative doesn’t get a say in cabinet appointments as intended in the constitution? So much democracy.
ITS NOT BUREAUCRACY IF THERE IS A PURPOSE TO IT!!!!!!!!!!! There is red tape in the fucking government for a reason!!! This is so fucking insane like I’m all for efficient government processes but it’s not a free for all
It is really depressing watching Republicans use every tool at their disposal to get what they want.
But Dems always have some reason as to why they can’t do the same.
So like, wtf is the FBI/CIA good for?
So we can destabilize other countries but not protect our own?
This big bad boogie man of secret highly classified agencies with alleged intel and windows into all of our lives but nothing?
The rest of the world must feel about us the way we all felt about Russia v Ukraine.
In many ways we as Americans deserve this.
Folks! *THIS* is the shit you do a January 6th about!
Am I the only one who thinks bureaucracy isn’t a bad thing? I know it is now pretty much used to mean “overly administrative system,” but really it’s just organizational structuring for large systems.
People seem to get so bent out of shape that the government is so “big”. You know whats also big? A country of over 330 million people with the most power military in history and massive capital based economy. It kind of makes sense that to string it all together, you need a large stable government with clearly distinct institutions with rules and a swath of personnel. Why is that so problematic?
