  1. Are you kidding me? Is this a joke? 12 million will buy a few blankets and food packets. How in the world did this make international news.

  2. KEY POINTS:

    • United Kingdom Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said the UK Government would be spending an additional £12m on democracy and energy independence projects in Ukraine.

    • She praised the country’s “fortitude in the face of Russian aggression” and pledged UK’s “steadfast support”. Her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba said Ukrainian-British relationships had “reached an unprecedentedly high level”.

    • In addition to increasing funding for Ukraine’s defence capabilities by £12m from £88m to £100m, Ms Truss also announced a new “trilateral partnership” with Ukraine and Poland to “intensify work on defence and security, sanctions, energy security and countering disinformation”.

    • Separately, Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned of the potential for a Russian “false flag” operation in Ukraine, after pro-Russian separatists shelled a primary school close to the Russian border in Luhansk, Eastern Ukraine.
