  1. Ryan Walters looks like JD Vance after cutting back on Diet Mountain Dew

  2. >Office of Religious Liberty and Patriotism

Why in the fuck is that even a thing…. this is literally bad fiction and he rolled two tropes into one.

Must be that new DOGE at work early.

  3. That shit is crazy levels of indoctrination frightening.

  4. I hope these superintendents are in offices that can’t be easily fired and appointed by the governor’s office.

    Keep fighting the good fight!

  5. I know a couple more smaller districts have also came out and said they won’t show it. The number will likely climb now that the State AG office has said that Walters dumbass can’t make schools show the video.

    https://oklahomavoice.com/2024/11/15/oklahoma-superintendent-has-no-power-to-make-schools-show-trump-prayer-video-ags-office-says/

Edit: As of right now I can say that the following districts are NOT going to show it based on reports.

    Bixby,
    Edmond,
    Piedmont,
    Moore,
    Mustang,
    Jenks,
    Caney Valley,
    Owasso,
    Tulsa,
    Preston,
    Union,
    Anadarko,
    Coweta,
    Norman,
    Yukon,
    Midwest City-Del City

Note this list is not a full list of schools that have said no to showing it these are just the ones I have seen in various articles saying they won’t show it.

  6. It’s blatantly obvious that all of the Republicans’ allegations of indoctrination from schools was just projection.

  7. Oklahoma is #49 in education. For those of you in educated in OK, that’s out of 50 states.

  8. The Bibles were purchased for AP GOVERNMENT CLASSES?!?!?

So now I’m Waiting for the church of satan to file a response and have their books also added to the curriculum.

And then file to have the Bible removed for incest, bestiality, pornography, violence etc. etc…. I think they did that in Florida and it worked….

  9. Forcing schools to show a politically charged video and pushing to abolish the U.S. Department of Education undermines both the integrity of public education and local control. His crazy agenda, which mixes politics with education, puts Oklahoma’s children at risk by prioritizing ideology over their well-being and education. They don’t want educated children, they want sheeple.

And I wonder which Bibles they purchased?

  10. And this is how we stop fascism!! We fight and resist them; without resisting them, they win.

  11. Strap in and hang on, y’allqaeda is in power now and setting the precedent for our version of first world iran, 🤦

  12. There’s gonna be kids making memes and deepfakes of this. He’s going to regret this.

  13. When did the College Board change the syllabus of any of its AP courses that require public schools to purchase bibles for extensive coursework???

  14. Wait till they find out why there are different sects of Christianity

  15. i distinctly remember jesus telling his people to pray quietly at home instead of loudly on the streets, something about them receiving their just reward here on earth if they did the latter instead of the former

  16. Malicious compliance: show it, but blast Trump’s favorite rally song: “YMCA” over it.

  17. He should be imprisoned for violating this nation’s most foundational principles.

  18. We really need to see this guys internet search history

  19. Alternate Title: Only Three Oklahoma Superintendents have the guts to stand up to fascism.

  20. I thought Republicans were super strict on what the constitution says & the rule of law? So why is the “separation of church and state” so goddamn hard for them to understand?

  21. Because teachers and some superintendents actually have morals.

  22. This is what happens when politicians in the highest offices have no consequences for their actions. It emboldens those lower on the ladder to flout the rules; as long as they’re sympathetic to the leader, they know they can get away with anything.

It’s a good reminder that there’s authoritarianism at every level of government.

  23. Tell Walters to shove his Trump Bibles up his ass sideways. He literally can’t force it on anyone. The whole thing is a wild violation of bedrock principles of America. The government doesn’t get to impose a religion. It’s the whole fucking raison d’etré of the US.

He can only get away with it if we pretend he actually has some kind of authority. He doesn’t. He’s so far off the reservation right now it’s looneytoons.

  24. At least 3? 3 of how many? That doesn’t sound like very many.

  25. This guy reminds me of a terrible substitute teacher that walks into a room and yells at kids demanding “respect for authority “. And then tells a bunch of kids that watch skibidi toilet videos all day and kick soap dispensers off the wall for fun that they “need Jesus in their lives”. Then you never see him again.

  26. This guy is probably on the short list for the (short lived) Secretary of Education nomination.

  27. I bet he thinks the Native Americans asked the Pilgrims to come here

  28. >The announcement and the video — which did not provide specific details about how the Bibles were procured or how much the books cost — are the latest in [a flurry of moves](https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/education/2024/11/13/ryan-walters-oklahoma-osde-religious-freedom-office/76232856007/) by Walters as he works to elevate his national profile.

    >Republican President-elect Donald Trump is quickly filling out his incoming Cabinet, and Walters’ name has been mentioned by some national news outlets as a potential pick for education secretary or adviser. Both Trump and Walters have called for the U.S. Department of Education to [be abolished](https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/education/2024/11/11/ryan-walters-oklahoma-trump-education-policy/76202978007/).

TL;DR: he’s just trying to get attention and get a role in the administration. I really doubt this or his insane Bible thing actually hold up, and I doubt they’re meant to. It sounds like even the Oklahoma state attorney general thinks this is a bridge too far. He’s just another flavor of Madison Cawthorne or Matt Gaetz or Lauren Boebert or MTG, the main goal isn’t to actually *do* anything, it’s to make noise.

  29. These people would lose their shit if a Muslim prayer was said out loud in public, but this is cool.

  30. This feels like the approach they took with abortion. Make a bunch of rules/laws that get challenged in court, and keep at it under different configurations until the right one gets to the Supreme Court and redefines the state of play. I’m all for religious freedom, but shoving Christianity down the throats of people sickens me to my core. These fuckers really want to live in Gilead.

  31. Religion keeps the population (workers) at bay. It’s what it was designed to do.
