Tonight is friet night for me and I always put lashings of my favourite sauce on my friet,Joppie sauce.I was wondering what my fellow belgiums like on their friet?

    Friet in de pita -> Samurai

    Friet naast de steak -> Peperroomsaus en mayo

    Boulet/Viandel/Frikandel -> Toscaanse Saus

  6. I got the choice between two brands of mayonnaise, ketchup and bbq sauce where I live. So I guess mayonnaise.
    But I miss andalouse.

  9. I’ve discovered Joppie sauce last month, let me tell you, my live will never be the same. Not in my kebab tho, Andalouse is perfect for that.

  10. Joppie is me veel te zoet. Gewone mayonaise en zelden eens tartare

  12. You have to search for it, but “pikante joppie” saus is the best. You can’t even buy it in supermarkets.

    But generally I’m a mayonnaise guy!

  17. At a frituur either plain Mayo or Speciaal (curryketchup ofcourse).

    At home still Mayo but at a bbq I often also get Honeymustard.

    On a durum/kapsalon/döner I usually get Samurai + Looksaus, or an equivalent if they don’t have them.

    Their pepper sauce is marvellous.

  28. There´s a special place in hell for people who abuse fries with joppie saus. Right next to priests and people who talk in the cinema.

  29. Frituur bij Filip in ghand used to have homemade Americain. Best ever!
    Don’t know if it still exists?

  30. Mayo, Joppie of Mammoet bij de frietjes. Look + Sambal bij de pita/kapsalon.

    Andalouse, mayo, samourai of stoofvleessaus.

    Mayo is de standaard.

    Samourai als ik iets pikant wil.

    Andalouse enkel bij de frituren die de goeie hebben (of huisgemaakte).

    Stoofvleessaus bij een frituur die niet denkt dat suiker daar een ingredient in is.

    Ah, en als ik iets van vissticks of zo eet, de huisgemaakte tartaar alstublieft.

    Maar een goed potje americain saus is ook zeer lekker. En blijkbaar wat ondergewaardeerd🙃

  40. Wow, niemand fan van Provencaalse saus? Spijtig dat het frietkot dichtbij niet het beste merk heeft en die saus ook nauwelijks te koop is in winkels.
