2. Trump will sell the Baltics and Ukraine to Russia.

3. Must be so hard. He has to suck up to Trump, but rationally knows he is a traitor .

4. Look at his face, he knows, for the next 4 years, he will have to suck up to the dumbest world leader the world has ever seen. We need to step up our military efforts in EU, unstable US can’t be cornerstone of our security.

   We can’t afford to take care of our elders properly, but we happily send billions to a corrupt hole like ukraine. It disgusts me what our politicians are doing.

6. I give it at max 6 months. then the war will be frozen and all else will be settled by negotiations. That is why Putin so desperately throws all at the war for territory he knows he will not keep.

7. Even aside of “he needs to stay on orange dude’s good side” it doesn’t seem that off. “Drill baby drill” is idiotic from many, many sides but it’s going to hurt russian economy pretty badly.

10. I wonder if Zelensky is gullible or simply misinformed? There are 999 examples of Trump/The Republican Party being anti-Ukraine for every 1 that can be interpreted as supportive. Unless the backroom talks are the complete opposite of what is happening right now with literal Russian assets being appointed into top cabinet roles… someone is getting played.

11. For better or worse, yes. It doesn’t mean it’ll be the outcome he hoped for.

    More likely than not, there’ll be a status quo and at least signing a temporary peace with the current frontlines.

12. If Russia makes any gains in Ukraine we all lose. Trump wants to give Putin all the land they’ve seized right now, and stop Ukraine joining NATO. Showing Russia they can do what they want. If this “peace” plan goes through they will just invade Ukraine again when they’ve built up their military. America won’t stop them.

13. This is Zelensky attempting to flatter the narcissist because he knows it’s his only chance. Pretty sure he (rightfully) hates Trump.

    Giving Russia land without NATO membership for Ukraine will just prove to Putin his tactic works and Russians WILL be back to take more land when their army gets replenished.

15. Sooner or later, people will get too tired of the war. Obviously, Ukraine now says it will never cede territory to not weaken their position, but this has been going on for 2.5 years now. It can go on for 50 years and Ukraine won’t be a normally functioning country, with or without aid. The problem is that Russia’s requirements are to control Ukraine politically and never let it join NATO or the EU, which will make any “genius deal” of Trump impossible for Ukraine, even if it cedes territory and makes peace.

16. Zelensky is trying to curry favor. Trump would throw Ukraine 🇺🇦 under a bus for his buddy Putin.

17. Remember that phone call between Trump and Musk and Zelensky? Here’s something I’m guessing was said by Trump: “Look we can help you. We want to help you. We’re on your side. Of course we are but listen – you wouldn’t want us to think we aren’t friends would you? So if people ask then it’d be nice to hear you appreciate what we’re doing for you. Say we’re working to end this thing for you. That we’re going to end it quicker than the other guy would’ve. You do that for us and we’ll see what we can do for you? Capisce?”‘ I don’t know why but I somehow segued into Tony Soprano when I was imagining the dialogue……

22. Trump doesn’t ever like paying the bill he owes so I wouldn’t be surprised if he decides to throw russia under the bus. Keep in mind trump only cares about being the best and most powerful. With putin weak trump might seek to destroy him.

32. And if that happens, Western Europe will fall asleep again. As usual. You can bet your ass that will happen. And in the meantime, Putin will start rebuilding his army for the next invasion of Ukraine, or another European country.

    His goals are clear. Putin never made a secret of it. He wants to restore Russia’s former glory. And we all know what that means. That doesn’t stop with parts of Ukraine. Anyone who believes that, is beyond ignorant.

    End the war. Sure. That might even happen. And Trump will be hailed as a peacemaker.

    But for how long? And at what coast?

    I have no doubt, no doubt at all, that ending this war isn’t the end of Putin’s imperialistic dream.
