Awesome game by one of your own :)

Ok y’all, I do not have the energy right now to make the whole archaeology based post complete with silly quips that I wanted to make just yet, but that can’t stop me from recommending you one of my absolute favorite games as an archaeology student studying the Middle Ages!

Bear with me, there’s a reason I’m posting it in the Germany subreddit 🙂

It’s called “Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth” and it’s a point and click adventure game based on a book series written by Ken Follett. (There are now four books, but the game is only based on the original 3).

Why is this in the German subreddit? The whole game was originally in German! Which makes sense because it’s made by indie developers working with German game studio Daedalic Entertainment

They also recorded everything in English too, so you can have the full game dialogue experience in either language, but if you are okay with reading subtitles you can do that in almost any language you’d like!

It’s not 100% historically accurate (the book series has a portion of the Wikipedia page dedicated to just inaccuracies) but I am still absolutely obsessed.

You can play this game on pretty much any platform, including your phone (although the phone version is incomplete so I would recommend computer or game console)! I originally played on the switch, but bought it again for my PS4 because of how obsessed with it I am lol.

It’s only $2-7 USD for hours and hours of beautifully illustrated and voiced content, so I am begging you to play this game. It’s very immersive too, I got to a point where Threads (a social media app) temporarily disabled my account because of my murderous rage towards one of the characters.

Please play this game I am begging you, if you love monks/the Middle Ages you WILL love this game
