Starmer says Labour will battle antisocial behaviour in police crackdown vow

  1. A lot of anti social behaviour is just lads being lads, people need to have a better sense of humor rather than trying to lock up everyone because they make them feel slightly uncomfortable.

  2. > The party chief spoke exclusively to the Mirror on a visit to Birmingham Erdington, as voters prepare to go to the polls on March 3 in a ballot triggered by the sudden death of popular Labour MP Jack Dromey.

This isn’t to do with Starmer or Anti-Social Behaviour but reading Jack Dromey’s [wiki controversies] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Dromey#Controversies) has sent me down some wild rabbit hole – to which he claimed he opposed.

    > In 1976, the NCCL in a submission to the Criminal Law Revision Committee of the British Parliament argued that “Childhood sexual experiences, willingly engaged in, with an adult result in no identifiable damage… The real need is a change in the attitude which assumes that all cases of paedophilia result in lasting damage”. The NCCL also sought to place the “onus of proof on the prosecution to show that the child was actually harmed” rather than having a blanket ban on child pornography and advocated the decriminalisation of incest

So yeah [that was a thing.](https://acegif.com/wp-content/uploads/gif-shaking-head-4.gif)

  3. So, we’re talking about ASBO’s again. He really is just doing a copy-paste on New Labour, isn’t he?

  4. Yes please, the police are fucking useless in my area and do nothing to stop the kids harassing people, smashing the bus station to pieces every month, threatening others with knifes.

  5. If he allows councils and housing associations to evict those with ASBOs or other antisocial crimes to free-up social housing for those in need it’ll be a vote winner, apart from two groups: the chattering classes (aka some people on r/UK) and the antisocial.

I have a friend who lives in a council flat who had no end of problems with a drug abusing neighbour. The tenants in that block only managed to get the person in question kicked out when he moved in with some woman. Not for the drugs and drug dealers coming and going, but for no longer living in the flat full-time.

    Edit: grammar
