I made the chart with MS Excel. Data gathered for the women via Perplexity with the query “What age were the 1st place winners of the FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women contest in the year that they won?”
So the sexiest man is about 40 years old or a little older. While the sexiest woman is about 25 years old or a little younger.

FHM is a magazine for young men. People is a magazine for middle-aged women. The discrepancy is not at all surprising.
I would use blue for the guy next time. But otherwise neat.
And the trends are diverging.
Now do one with no makeup allowed.

Honestly just happy to see zero 20 or younger. I guess older men would be sexier in certain ways, but for me the most attractive men are around my age and most attractive women are around my age. Anything for someone [much] younger than you is disturbing to me. I never understand why people find people less attractive with age, seems like a defective mentality.

I bet nearly-60 y.o. sexiest man in 1987 was Sean Connery.

It would be really interesting to extend this graph to the last 100 years. I remember a lot of movies in the 50s with men old enough to be grandpas hooking up with seriously young leading ladies. Looking at you, Hitchcock.
It actually makes sense: If a guy is 25 and balding, he isn’t sexy anymore, but if he is 45 and bald, he can still be sexy… and this is to combine with the fact that women over 40 are almost never considered hot while some men still are. Also don’t forget guys under 30 never being called men but still boys or something!
Why are the dots going up and down each year? I’m pretty sure my age increased steadily during that period.
