John Krasinski is the sexiest man at age 45, what about the age of the typical sexiest woman? [OC]

  1. I made the chart with MS Excel. Data gathered via Perplexity with the query “What age were the 1st place winners of the FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women contest in the year that they won?” I’ll add sources if I can, but Reddit keeps giving me an error.

  2. A scatterplot of People age (men) vs FHM age (women) would be more fun.

  3. Reminds me of a headline from The Onion:

“World’s Oldest Attractive Woman Celebrates 48th Birthday”

  4. I had to look up who 4 of them were. I knew all the 90’s ones though.

  5. They’re always celebrities not ‘the sexiest person alive’

  6. I find it funny how they seem to make it a point to choose someone different every year. I get why they do that, it’s just funny. Like Jessica Alba was just as hot in 08 as in 07, and Megan Fox just as much in 07 as 08.

  7. When 9/11 happened we all collectively stopped thinking about sexy women. That year the award was for sexiest hijacker

  8. FHM is a magazine for young men. People is a magazine for middle-aged women. This is not a surprise.

  9. If Lori Loughlin didnt have such controversy, she could win.

    Cindy Crawford
    Salma Hayek
    Christie Brinkley
    Elisabeth Shue
    Tiffany Amber Thiessen

I am sure there are more, but don’t sleep on the older women!

  10. The difference is probably demographics of the magazines. People targets an older female audience while FHM targets a younger male audience.

  11. I can definitely tell I’ve gotten older and don’t pay attention to pop culture… 3 of the 8 most recent women I’ve never heard of

EDIT: looked them up and they’re all British, so that’s why

  12. who decides this stuff anyways? i didn’t vote for anything

  13. The only correct choice here is clearly Tom Hiddleston! No offense to John Krasinski, but he’ll always be Jim the slightly goofy but sweet guy from Dunder Mifflin to me.

  14. that goofy looking dude got sexiest man? lol whos the judge on that? my favourite part about krasinski is that he is goofy looking enough to kinda be an every man regardless of how much he works out, makes the rolls a little more believable.

  15. So I’m not in the mood for calculating standard deviation. But from what I see, this is Teri Hatcher (’97) and Jennifer Lawrence (’14) pulling the values away from the median at the beginning/end of the graph, but not a real trend.

  16. In a sea of sexy celebrity men, they went with Jim from The Office. Bold move, Cotton

  17. I’m seventy. Nothing sexier than a self confident woman with long white hair.

  18. I wonder how many of them fit the 34b/c-28-34 “sexy” measurements.

  19. We really need a least sexy person of the year to learn anything interesting about this data

  20. Average Playmate of the month was 18-24. Hugh Hefner made a lot of money so I’ll go with that stat.

  21. One of those charts that probably shouldn’t start at zero…

  22. See whatchya gotta do is correlate hand lotion sales and views for the same user.

  23. but he’s not the sexiest. He paid for the title. the meaning is qualitatively different.

  24. Genuine question, would this chart be better if sorted by age instead of year since age is the point?

  25. Shit goes downhill fast after 30 ladies unless you have a ton of money

  26. Any women here think that he is ‘sexy’? He seems kinda goofy to me, in a nice way. I would never describe him as sexy.

  27. I fuckn hate this “gotcha” of men only find younger women attractive. “ITs uNFaiR!!”

It’s simple biology people, our brains are hard wired to be most attracted to women who display the most signs of fertility, aka youth.

  28. There is nothing wrong with any of them.     Take care of yourselves people

  29. This is great. It is amazing that a woman can attain a title like this so much faster that a man can. /s
