Rupert Murdoch waited years for a pliant government – now he’s got one | Jane Martinson | The Guardian

  1. Murdoch has had a pliant Government since Thatcher walked into Downing St, and I include the Blair government’s in that.

  2. This is just the most compliant government he has had, with Johnson having been a friend for years before becoming PM, as well as having been a journalist (although I use the term loosely) himself. Murdoch has had an easy ride since Blair and he knows this, now he has the most gullible and greedy PM in modern times to influence and I bet he is loving it.

  3. I’m 37. I was about 11 in 1995. That’s when I first became only vaguely aware of politics. It was glaringly obvious to me and has been ever since, that every government we’ve had had been very pliant to Murdoch and any other monied foreign interest.
