People should ask themselves….Why is the tax code so confusing? I wonder if it’s because billionaires had lobbiests pay off the government to constantly add to the taxes for all the write offs they need to never actually have to pay expenses. Well how about we put no waste laws in the tax code, so you don’t get reimbursed for every product you destroy to push up prices. How about if you make money, you pay taxes on that money instead of just buying stocks. There’s plenty that could be done but after these 2 simplify the tax code it will mean they no longer pay any tax.
Accountability is the only way. They aren’t wrong that it’s a giant pile of convoluted nonsense that needs to be sorted. Loop holes closed and simplified.
What tipped you off?
I think turbo tax is gonna be very much against this.
Not surprising. The capitalists have controlled government for decades. Now they’re just in front instead of hidden behind.
Back in the late 80s Jack Kemp was championing a Flat Tax Rate system. I knew our country was doomed when I heard a multi-millionaire say the flat-tax wasn’t fair because why should he pay more than someone making the median wage. And then I heard someone in a red state say a flat-tax isn’t fair because in the current system they are currently paying zero taxes because they don’t make enough money to qualify to pay taxes.
Here’s my solution to the whole problem of taxes. Replace all corporate taxes with just one flat rate tax on corporate dividend payouts. This way billionaires who own millions of shares of stock cannot skip on paying their fair share.
Here’s another tax idea. Pass a law where the Federal Reserve has to take ALL their profits and distribute them back to the tax payers through an IRS refund.
Politicians aren’t pulling it off…
Not the 2 billionaires in question. If it were “a couple of randos” that would be one thing, but Elon Musk built his companies and was massively dedicated to their success.
He’s just going to run everything through grok and put his little musk twist on it all.
Didn’t vote for them but I fall on the “have” side of things, so to all the working-class/Union folks that voted to give me massive tax breaks, thanks!
I’ll think of just myself and my family from now on lol
