  1. I can’t fact check this right now, so if this is misleading, please report **and** provide proof in the comments.

I say this because I saw a lot of conflicting comments about this on our megathread and on Twitter.

  2. No need to give them planes. They can buy some themselves, there is a mig-shop behind every corner 🙂

  3. I thought this would be a NATO decision for some reason. It was very gun ho foR a while, and then complete draw back.

  5. I’m sorry, but this isn’t something you can promise and then backpedal on. Ugh….

  6. Europe and NATO: maybe he’ll get bored of killing Ukrainians and just leave..right guys? Guys!?

  7. Supplying food, medicine, and non-military items to Ukraine is acceptable and a good thing for us to do. However, sending advanced military items to Ukraine blurs the line between Europe being neutral and being a combatant, especially if those weapons start to turn the war in Ukraine’s favor.

What do you think Russia will do then? Bombing Ukraine’s border crossings, roads, and bridges into Europe would be the obvious first step. As that is the way to disrupt arms shipments from continuing into Ukraine. Such actions could quickly lead to escalation and eventually a nuclear war in Europe.

  8. It would be too risky for Poland and Czech Rep. then cause planes should be parked at their airports.

You know if they attack Poland or any other NATO countrie it would be NATO vs Russia = nuclear war

  9. Meh, the Ukrainians are simply purchasing peaceful MiG-29 planes for peaceful mission is Ukraine.

Nothing to worry about. Right, “peacekeeping” Russian forces?

  10. So this was all Borrell’s personal little adventure. And the info about the planes reaching Ukraine within an hour was because another top EU official was just musing.

    Fucking hell.

  11. Lol, the Stars and Stripes article about this said “no airspace useage”.

Sooo, use a mobile crane put them on a truck and roll to the nearest Ukrainian airstrip, truck and crane, and unload… Poland is right next door. I mean, depending on the aircraft, it might be a matter of literally flying to the border, landing on the road, transfering the aircraft ownership, pull it across the border with a tractor, then take off from the road and go where needed.
