I agree, I’ve been in Belgium for a long time : You want to go for a nice walk : Wallonia, you want to go see a nice city : Flanders. Walloon cities look like they had a literal shit factory on every road. In brussels they even have a poop machine in one of their museums…

Why do Flemish houses look like soyjaks
Flemish cities are top tier, but yeah the countryside looks rough. Everything that isn’t city or suburban is tiny and often even run down. Way better than Wallonia of course, but still, sometimes reminds me of Slovenia. You can see a hint of wealth but it still is kinda run down, especially the roads

Guys, I’m planning to stay a week in Belgium next year.
The plan is to go from Antwerp –> Brugge –> Ghent –> Dinant –> Namur
Maybe any Belgians can recommend me some unknown little gems of town that would be nice to visit? I’ve got La Roche-en-Ardenne on my list already.
There’s an entire Instagram account I follow called Ugly Belgian Houses and it’s a goldmine for those “Flemish countryside” monstrosities lol
