He wants a partner to carve up the world with. This message isn’t for Biden it’s for Trump. Xi is using Biden as a messenger boy
SS: In a meeting that Biden and XI had on the sidelines of APEC, Xi stated that the USA should not cross the red lines of China. He also stated that a new cold war is not good and cannot be won. He agreed that USA and China would have differences being major powers and rivals however USA should not interfere in bilateral issues between China and its neighbours.
IMHO, Xi is simply trying to deploy the boiling frog strategy.
So it’s basically still the status quo.
