  6. The data is outdated on Wikipedia. The data for Germany is from 2017, it’s on 61% nowadays. Austria is also 75%.

  9. This has completely blown away my preconceptions about Indian railways. I was expecting top left of the chart.

  10. Caltrain in the Bay Area is newly electrified passenger rail. So… America is not 0% but I’m sure it’s also still quite a pathetically small number.

  11. I think if network length were divided by countries area, it would paint a better picture

  12. It’d be interesting to see this data represented with a sense of scale – the US and China are both large countries, so electrifying lines may be more difficult in remote/rural areas, compared to, say India, which is also a large country but has a relatively higher urban density.
