I really like koskenlaskija but the price of it is absolutely criminal here in Stockholm. I often bring some back when I visit my girlfriend in Finland!

  1. Those are naturally Krone… goes for about 10€ so that is pretty expensive.

  2. That is salty! Does people actually buy it there for that price? It’s not THAT good.

  3. Fun fact, it was the only cheese made in Finland during wartime and was a staple in the army rations. A true classic.

  4. Next boat trip to Sweden i know what i am stuffing my suitcase with

  5. Wait until you hear how much Oltermanni is smuggled to Russia…

  6. We have here in Zürich a store which sells Koskenlaskija for about 11,70 euros (CHF10,95). The markup seems to about 2-4x for most products.

    Similarly 500g Oltermanni sells for CHF17,95 (19,20€) and 400g Oivariini for CHF12,95 (13,85€).

I still appreciate that these are even available. Don’t shop it there weekly though.

  7. I remember this pain when I still lived in Sweden 🙁 I bought it couple times a year when the want got too strong. The price of it is insane though. I’ve seen it creeping closer to 200SEK in some stores. Cray cray!

  8. May I recommend “Lastenkoskija” same quality but much cheaper.

  9. I assumed the photo was from Finland and thought it was 120€ before reading the title lol
