Montenegro suffers a 2-0 loss to Iceland, marking their seventh straight defeat under Robert Prosinečki, while Turkey misses a chance to secure promotion in the Nations League.

Robert Prosinečki’s Montenegro endured yet another disappointing result, falling to Iceland 2-0 at home in Nikšić during their League B Group 1 clash in the UEFA Nations League. The loss marks Montenegro’s seventh consecutive defeat across all competitions, continuing a worrying trend for the team.

The visitors broke the deadlock late in the match, with Oskarsson scoring in the 74th minute, followed by Johannesson sealing the win in the 88th minute. Montenegro remains rooted to the bottom of the group, having failed to earn a single point after five matches.

Meanwhile, in the same group, Turkey missed an opportunity to secure promotion to League A, drawing 0-0 with Wales in Kayseri. Despite dominating the match, Turkey squandered a golden opportunity in the 89th minute when Kerem Aktürkoğlu missed a penalty.

Turkey remains atop the group with a two-point lead over Wales but could see the situation change in the final round. Turkey will face Montenegro away, while Wales will host Iceland, keeping the fight for the top spot alive.

The final matchday will also be crucial for Group 1 of League B, where Georgia and Ukraine played out a 1-1 draw earlier. The situation remains tight, with Georgia and Czechia leading with seven points (Czechia has a game in hand), while Albania sits on six and Ukraine on five.
