Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick as Norway defeated Kazakhstan 5-0 to win promotion from Group B3 of the UEFA Nations League.

Norway finished two points above Group B3 rivals Austria after they conceded a late equaliser in their clash with Slovenia.

His hat-trick means Haaland is the top scorer in this season’s competition, having found the back of the net seven times in six appearances.

Haaland opened the scoring on 23 minutes. Antonio Nusa’s shot was well saved by Stas Pokatilov, but the ball fell at the feet of the forward, and the Manchester City star blasted home.

He got on the end of Nusa’s cross to score his second and double Norway’s advantage 14 minutes later.

It was 3-0 on the stroke of half-time as former Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth found the bottom right corner.

Haaland completed his hat-trick with 19 minutes remaining with a driven effort from the edge of the box that nestled into the bottom-left corner.

Nusa added his side’s fifth to wrap up a comfortable victory at the Ullevaal Stadion.

In the group’s other game, Austria missed out on the top spot after Adam Gnezda Cerin’s late goal rescued a draw for Slovenia.

Romano Schmid broke the deadlock in the first half, firing the ball into the bottom-left corner after being found in the box by Christoph Baumgartner.

However, Gnezda Cerin equalised with nine minutes remaining, and the match finished with the score locked at 1-1.

Greece defeated Finland 2-0, but it was not enough as they finished second in Group B2.

Chances were few and far between until Anastasios Bakasetas gave the visitors the lead after half-time.
