  1. To be honest, I see a bit of irony sending Emma Muscat as our contestant for Eurovision this year when she speaks better Italian than Maltese. I think she’s almost not proud to be Maltese. There’s a bit of irony in the fact that I’m writing this in English too but I digress.

I sort of knew her through mutual friends many years ago. She’s an alright girl but goddamn does she come from a very very privileged background and that privileged may have affecting a bit in how she views the world.

The song itself was ok. It’s another pop ballad about overcoming adversity. Not a bad song but not really original. I would rather the contestant sing a Maltese-language song like Aidan’s Ritmu (but that was a generic song anyway) because it’s something that hasn’t been done in decades and I think we would get a better reception.

On the other hand, I really don’t care about Eurovision so I won’t be watching it anyway but best of luck to her.
