  10. Correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is, they talk a LOT of shit they can’t do. They don’t have any actual legal authority over other departments. They are basically private consultants being contacted by the Trump WH to advise or make suggestions on what to cut.

  14. This will affect so many MAGA people’s lives and people they know. It is beyond belief the problems this will cause to save a few bucks for tax cuts that will go to the rich.

    I am truly speechless on the devastation to come and people don’t know how bad it will be. Entire counties are literally going to be economic wastelands with destitute people – education cuts, welfare cuts, medical help cut, food banks and soup kitchens setup. Then those industries that rely on government payments will be hit such as emergency health care, but I guess SpaceX may get more funding…

  21. The more I hear this, the more I’m convinced nothing will happen. Not only are they not a real agency, but good luck getting of this: 1) approved, 2) passed, 3) budgeted, 4) litigated, and 5) probably alot of of other things I’m not thinking of.

This is exactly why you don’t put the people being regulated in charge of the regulation, which the republicans do every damn time, but now it’s supercharged. “Let’s just get rid of any restrictions on antisocial activities by the wealthy and powerful – surely that will work out for the (checks notes) 99.5% of us who aren’t rich!”

  24. These two fascist pricks can talk all they want, but DOGE cannot just begin to act as a government agency. It is illegal. You can’t just randomly create a new government agency bc you want to. Not how it works. An agency is created by Article 1 legislation in Congress, commonly known as the enabling act. This act outlines the agemcy’s purpose and responsibilities, as well as grants the new agency specific powers and authority to regulate whatever it was created to regulate.

  27. Market collapse imminent. Foreign investors are about to start dumping US currency. This combined with sweeping tariffs (taxes) that will dramatically raise the cost of everything in America. All this at a time when most Americans are barely meeting their expenses already.

  29. They are going to discover that only CONGRESS can eliminate agencies, and if there’s anything they hate to do it’s eliminating agencies and employees in their own states. Making spending go away is really hard.
