Come on now everyone knows you had to go from brand name to generic cereal under Biden
Not necessarily, that disadvantage allows a competitor to fill that same space. It doesn’t always correlate to long term increases. It’s just the abrupt nature of the change that can lead to short term increases.
This is modern late stage capitalism. Even if the product is made 100% in the USA at a lower price the company will raise the price to match the imported products price. It’s not going to benefit anyone.
In Chicago here right after Trump won, they doubled the price on eggs from $3.50 to $7 overnight. Nobody did anything to stop them.
Who the f@&$ can afford eggs? Isn’t that why they elected that dick hole this time around? The price of eggs was too high.
They won’t realize. They will listen to Fox News and whatever bullshit they are peddling today and blame Democrats for prices being too high.
I’ve been asking people about tariffs lately. “what do you think a tariff is and how does it work?” People can’t answer it, they just say “It hurts China” or similar.
Yeah. Eggs in Tennessee have went up to $6-$8 a dozen already. Up from $3-$4.
With global warming being an abrupt irreversible exponential function .Get your eggs while you still can.
Had this conversation with my mom earlier today who voted for trump every time. I explained how tariffs worked and how we’re all going to pay higher prices now and cited the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act as an example of how bad economic policies can destroy our economy. In typical trump supporter fashion, she referenced some obscure article she had read about how one instance in our history where increased tariffs benefited our economy. Couldn’t tell me what when or how but saw it on FB 🤦🏻
Tariffs are taught in school. Why would “nobody” know what they are (except Democrats) and how they work. It was like junior high when I learned about how it works.
