This is the issue Trump flip flopped on overnight. He went from ‘6 weeks isn’t enough time!’ to the bullshit position of ‘Dems want to abort babies after their born!’ This May have beaten their ignorant way higher than 50%+1 threshold, except Trump caved.
Many women especially voted to codify abortion in their state while also supporting Trump. It allowed them to think they had their cake and ate it too.
Who wants to tell them the Republicans want a nationwide abortion ban (Vance and others have said it clearly) and federal law supercedes state law.
