Newport £10k pa spent for each one of their 600 homeless.
WG £30k spent for each homeless person.
I’m only a dumb accountant but surely these numbers justify going to a house builder and having 1/2/3 Bedroom flats/apartments/affordable housing built?
I know PFI contracts have been crap but how difficult would it have been for councils to go and justify borrowing £10m to build 100 homes?
I know Jack shit about housing benefits etc but with a stable home all of these people could then at least start to put rent back into the system.
