  1. Anything feels like haute cuisine after a lifetime of eating kapsalon and mayo with raw onions

  2. Surely it’s Chindo but with the amount of Chinese and Indonesian laborers we carted off to Suriname when the slavery thing became iffy who even knows which is what cuisine now?

  3. At this point, is Turkish cuisine really “foreign” cuisine in Germany and Austria?

  4. Of course Luigi’s gonna pick a cuisine with noodle dishes 🙄

  5. Practically speaking I’m sure British people eat pizza+pasta more often than curry **however** if you go to a town centre you’ll likely find more Indian restaurants than Italian.

  6. I personally don’t feel insulted or anything by these results, people tend to prefer simple and accessible dishes over overly sophisticated ones, that’s totally normal

  7. Pom is a Surinamese dish of Jewish origin.

    You anti-semites better shut up.

  8. After independence mid seventies, literally half the Surinamese population moved to here. (Look at our national team, I’d say almost half the team is mixed Surinamese and Dutch).

And Roti can be damned tasty, if you manage to find a good shop.

  9. They said foreign, but in germany its just their local cuisine. Are they stupid?

  10. I almost never had Surinamese food.

Based on empirical evidence, I would say either Indonesian-Chinese or Italian is the most popular foreign cuisine.

  11. You clearly haven’t tried roti or saoto soup. Or else you wouldn’t be spreading this heresy.

  12. Don’t knock Surinamese until you tried it, it’s amazing.

  13. Cypriot food is basically superior Greek food I wouldn’t say it’s a foreign cuisine more a byproduct of being Hellenised by the Ptolemaic empire.

    Koupepia > Dolamdes

  14. If we’re being honest, Croatians would pick Bosnian as their favourite foreign cuisine.

  15. Surinamese food is the bomb and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

  16. When I’m Italy I see way more sushi than any other foreign food..

  17. Considering that the north of Italy is full of Chinese sweatshops, I don’t find it hard to see why Chinese would be the most popular

  18. I would argue Greek cuisine is not foreign to Macedonia and Cyprus. Might even go as far as to say the same about Portuguese cuisine in Luxembourg

  19. OP probably never had a kebab at 6 in the morning after a bazzilion beers

  20. This is why the Roman Empire collapsed. The soldiers couldn’t get hold of genuinely good food in all their territories.

  21. Yes, really. The food is amazing. We have imported good dishes to enrich our blend Dutch cuisine. Also, try Indonesian, amazing food as well.

  22. Eat some roti from a surinamese lady in de Bijlmer and you won’t ask again why we like their food so much. It’s simply glorious

  23. I don’t even know where I could get Surinamese food but there are 5 Indo-Chinese restaurants nearby

  24. Its not its Indonesian food for sure by a long long shot

  25. Did Japan just changed his flag or was this map made in the 90s ?

  26. for being to belgium quite a few time, it should be french cuisine instead of italian, i always struggle to find local food because its full of french restaurant

  27. You haven’t had the pleasure of eating a bara bakkeljauw, tja-sjieuw or broodje pom.

Suriname food is heaven on earth.
