So I've got to say this guy is an absolute hero. He has no shoes on for a reason…

Today a blind man tried to get on at Kings Cross. The man was being assisted by tfl to get on but as getting on the blind man tripped. A few of us on the train then helped the gentleman find a seat. Once the man sat down he realised he had a missing shoe. It slipped between the platform and the train.

Before the train left the platform we all tried to tell the tfl driver… But I'm guessing a miss communication occured and the train left the platform. On doing so the blindman got a bit panicked as he only had one shoe.

This absolute hero with out hesitation took off his shoe and gave it to the blindman. He didn't want thanks or praise, he simply did it. It is a damn cold day after he got out at Liverpool street to try and find a pair of shoes.

I've covered the guys face as he doesn't know I have posted this and I want to respect a bit of his privacy. I'm not one for sharing feel good posts etc, but when I saw this happen it sent a shiver down my spine.

I want to share this with other people and let them know there are incredible people in the world! The world is a good place, we all just need to do our bit!

  1. What an absolutely brilliant thing to do. This Sub should give out Londoner of the year awards. This man deserves full praise.

  2. I love how outrageously unbelievably this tale is but we have no choice but to trust you.

  3. Aaaw, love a good shoe-sharing story 😀 I gave a pair of mine years ago to a drunk girl in Shoreditch. I was coming back from a post-work event and this group of girls was trying to make it to the tube but one of them had a broken heel. I gave her my flats, she was insanely grateful and I hope part of that was actually the booze because it was really just a pair of flats.

I remember putting on my gym shoes that I used to have with me at all times back in the day and feeling better about the absolute waste of time that had been my evening up to that point.

  4. Legend. Glad to see some people still have a sense of community.

  5. What a champ of a man! But he should prob have given the two shoes, rather than leaving one behind, because now as it stands, one man has 1 shoe, and the other has two mismatched shoes 😅

  6. You can’t really understand how much of a hero he is until another person has walked a mile in your shoes. Or something.

  7. Did the blind man still have his wallet 🤔

Heh for real though good on that man. Top bloke nice one. See it say it sorted.

  8. Thought this was going to be a rant at first based on the title and the photo 😅

  9. I don’t know why anyone would think giving away a shoe was more sensible than using the help point to let staff know and recover the missing shoe but good job I guess… Also if you need to get the attention of the driver and it’s not an emergency worthy of using the alarm then stand in the doorway to prevent the doors closing and wave your arm broadly above your head to alert the driver (who should be watching the doors on cctv before departure).

  10. I’m gonna save this photo and post it again in a few weeks as rage bait of someone taking their shoes off on the tube.

  11. Absolute legends, him and you. Just the kind of post I love to see. Not another one whining about how bad Londoners are.

  12. This! In a world full of negative stories be this young man.
