The Netherlands and Denmark have promised to send 14 more refitted Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine as the two countries look to ramp up military support, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans confirmed.

In a statement announcing the donation, the Dutch government said that 12 of the tanks have already been refitted and verified by Germany’s Rheinmetall with the final two about to go through final testing.

  3. Good. I know they have very little tanks. But we need to get serious about supplying Ukraine, training more brigades and actually sending them hundreds and not dozens of tanks. I say this as someone from Germany. I wish we sent them hundreds of Leopards and didn’t reduce our own stocks from 2000 to 200 tanks.

  16. I think the UK should send all our tanks. The crews can act as trainers in ukraine and deal with the logistics. We dont need tgem right now. I’m sure the next generation challengers will have different characterists to resist drones

  18. What’s the source of this news? Nothing on Dutch media, Dutch MoD website or Ruben Brekelmans social media.

  19. This is not a new pledge. This pledge was given last year if I remember correctly.

  20. For the ones who say to send more (and that applies to the other equipment as well) sending more doesn’t work if you don’t have trained personnel for it. If you would send a 100 tanks, then there would be 80 in storage. All sitting ducks waiting for to get hit by a next Russian attack. It is safer to keep them in storage outside of Ukraine.

  21. Say, anyone know what happened with those 50 Abrams Australia was planning on sending? I wanna see some of our tanks actually doing something for once. That something is blowing up Russian tanks.
