The Netherlands and Denmark have promised to send 14 more refitted Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine as the two countries look to ramp up military support, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans confirmed.

In a statement announcing the donation, the Dutch government said that 12 of the tanks have already been refitted and verified by Germany’s Rheinmetall with the final two about to go through final testing.

  1. Thank you Netherlands and Denmark!

Leopards have been doing an amazing job in Kursk

  2. FYI, before anyone gets any other ideas – the video OP has put up is a new Danish Army Leopard 2A7DK, which is of course mentioned on the video. Those are now the mainstay of the Danish Army’s armour fleet.

Denmark is paying for the purchase of retired Leo 2A4’s from private industry stockpiles. Their ex-German Leo 2A4’s they did have were upgraded to Leo 2A5DK specs in the late 90’s. They have since 2020 or so become the 2A7DK, as seen in the video having been substantially upgraded once more.

  3. Can’t believe I feel the need to ask this, but is this a new offering or is this just what they already pledged but haven’t delivered until now?

  4. Old news, this isn’t a new pledge. It is a pledge made in 2023 if I remember correctly. It’s a shame we haven’t been able to provide them to Ukraine yet. Speaking as a dane myself.

  5. so danish of them to do a friendly wave while in a tank

  6. Imagine telling 2022 Putin that invading Ukraine would end with leopards in Kursk 🤣
