I actually can’t stand the French, but I recently resolved to go ahead and learn their stupid language basically to make up for being a native English speaker; everyone else has to learn English whether they want to or not (except for Italians), so if I learn French I’ll get to see how it feels learning to speak a language you hate only to have its native speakers sneer at your accent.

    Also it’ll make my France-hate more refined than American France-hate.

  5. We have hundreds of years of rivalry and hatred which culminated in us putting our differences aside to unite against an existential threat.
