  1. welcome to how the world has always worked? Where it will only get worse and more generic overtime with ai.

  2. Many of the creators I view have very few views and will not break even.  I think there needs to be a rework of the dollars per view.

I think a dynamic system that has a goldilocks spot would be best.  Somewhere between 10,000 and 500,000 views would give the highest reward per view.  Less than 10,000 and your content isn’t quite hitting the mark.  More that 500,000 and you’ve made your money.

This would encourage more people to try their hand at making content.  Not wasting viewers time but also not trying to grow to a mega channel.

  3. Duh…. Plus these micro influencers with only 2k followers wanna charge 3k just to post my products

  4. >the average monthly income for content creators, excluding possible paid partnerships, is just 20% of the average monthly income for a typical, full-time US employee, the note added.

It really is just a side hustle for most, and people are already burning out.

  5. this is the best news EVER. there are far too many people creating YouTube and TikTok videos, podcasts, and sending out tweets about what lipstick brand to use.

  6. Jake Paul laid the foundation.

There’s only so many ex-fighters for all the “content creators” to level up and do battle with.

Only natural that some of them won’t be able to climb that hill…

  7. A lot of people have given up who didn’t get the quick payoff.

  8. Churn is expected to happen in this line of work. But there will be continued growth. As brand deals shift to bigger creators; its likely US will follow creator market in Asia- where they are directly selling for commission.

Aside from that as you see business leaders all creating their own podcasts, we’ll likely see those who can build an audience in their field and be viewed as thought leaders- become execs because they built their brand on substack, youtube or whatever.

  9. that’s how it works in any job. If everyone’s a plumber, then plumbers aren’t getting paid. Every teen girl with a phone wants to be an “influencer”, well, there’s already 100 million of em, so the market is saturated.
