  1. He’s going to let the blue states burn, even though the red states are also going to burn/choke.

    It all makes perfect sense when you remember who he really works for.

  2. The whole “rake the forests” was moronic Trump speak for “greatly increase logging.”

  3. “Drain the swamp” has really been “burn it down,” all along.

  4. Fire suppression consumes ~90% of USFS and DOI budgets anymore… which is just throwing money at the symptoms and not the underlying problem. We desperately need a nationwide workforce that has the skills and expertise to do prescribed burns and thinning for our most vulnerable areas. 

    Even with the one-time funds provided in the IIJA and IRA, Congress has lacked the resources to fund both suppression and prevention for a while now. I don’t see it getting any better under the GOP pledge to cut, cut, cut.
