Four out of 10 consumers never switch energy supplier despite surge in prices

  1. If you change they insist you pay by direct debit. People who don’t pay their bills in full and on time can’t afford this

  2. I’m due to switch at the end of March but don’t want to do so until I get the energy credit. I don’t want to lost out on the energy credit if I have no bill due to the credit you get when you sign up

  3. Honestly unsurprised. You’d think it’s fairly commonsense but a combination of laziness and ignorance stop a lot of people. Constantly have to remind alot of people around me about it. Just set a calendar reminder on your phone yearly ffs. It’ll save you a few hundred quid each year.

And just because your housesharing doesn’t mean you can’t change it. Just need the MPRN

  4. I hate how all of these suppliers just spend their time trying to steal each others’ customers with enticing deals and then locking them into contracts, rather than just competing on the actual services and normal prices that they offer.

It’s always the case that “loyal customers” have to pay more than ones who change at every opportunity, which always feels like the wrong way around to me.

Of course, it’s the same with jobs – you’ll get more pay and promotions if you constantly switch, because companies never really value the employees that they have, and are happy to rely on people to be too lazy or comfortable to leave.
