The ‘super year’ of elections has been super bad for incumbents as voters punish them in droves • Whether on the left or the right, regardless of how long they’ve been in power

>India’s Narendra Modi, meanwhile, had been widely expected to easily sweep to a third straight term in June but instead voters turned away from his Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party in droves, [costing it its majority in parliament](https://apnews.com/article/india-election-results-2024-lok-sabha-modi-bjp-7893efecc83fa8225a611f174e6420ee), though it was able to remain in power with the help of allies.
It’s true and there was a lot of fuss made over this in the days after the election, but, and someone could correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t see any noticeable difference in governance.

Same thing happened in 2008. When the crisis hit, countries with a left wing government got a right wing one, and vice-versa.
Doesn’t matter that the crisis is international in source or how well you handle it. The people are retarded, and want “change” without ever knowing what it is.
Good. It’ll be **hilarious** in several months when the masses are whining. My answer will be “Hey, you voted for it…you what you F—ing deserve”.
* Small business owner closes shop, oh well…I guess he/she couldn’t hack it.
* Price of anything goes up, why act surprised? Didn’t you read Trump’s policies?
* Government subsidized healthcare goes away? Same answer as above.
I might even add a “Welp, just pull yourself up from the bootstraps” or even quip “Wow, too lazy to work, eh?”
Meanwhile in the Kremlin: “I told you. If you’d handed me Ukraine and lifted all sanctions, the world would’ve been as before, there would’ve been no inflation and all of you guys were still in power. Thanks Angela btw. We’ve warmed you a chair at RosAtom, come if you will ha-ha”.
