MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The USDA announced over $24 million to rural Wisconsin communities to support alternative energy, lowering energy costs.
One producer in the Grant and Lafayette Counties area is included in the recipients.
The man is receiving over $25,000 to build a small solar array in Hazel Green.
The project is expected to save $2,555 per year and will replace the company’s entire energy use per year.
The total energy produced from that project will be enough to power one home.
Eleven other businesses across Wisconsin received grants, and one business received a loan as part of the Rural Energy for America Program.
